Hyacinth Varieties

They seem to be introducing new hyacinths quite regularly. I started this page last year or the year before but I'm already seeing varities at suppliers web sites that I don't know. I hope to update this page July/August time when I start looking at what to buy.

Some of these are/were sold as "prepared", some as "garden hyacinths".

Aiolos, white, haven't used this for a few years

City of Bradford really liked results with this variety 2016/2017 but it wasn't available 2017/2018. I hope it will be available again.

Hollyhock red, I've never grown this variety

Ibis pink, variable results, forgettable

John Bos/Jan Bos dark pink, quite early, these were starting to bloom mid-December

Lady Derby very light pink, really liked it a few years ago, no longer available as far as I know.

L'Innocence white, very good but doesn't seem to be on sale many places
